... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from noon Saturday to 9 am
MDT Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for 1 to 4 inches of snow... which is in effect
from noon Saturday to 9 am MDT Sunday.

Impacts/timing... noon Saturday through 9 am Sunday. 1 to 4 inches
of slushy snow... with locally higher amounts on peaks will make
for cold and wet conditions for those planning outdoor activities.
In addition... look for reduced visibility and some slushy
conditions on roads at pass level... particularly at night.

Locations impacted: Galena Summit and Sawtooth National Forest
areas above 7000 feet.

... Record daily maximum rainfall set at Challis and Stanley ID
today...

Rainfall of 0.44 inches at Challis ID breaks the old record of 0.35
set in 1940.

Rainfall of 0.84 inches at Stanley ID shatters the old record of
0.10 set in 1997.

Rainfall totals are through 5pm. Additional rainfall is likely at
both sites between now and 1 am... which may necessitate updated
record daily rainfall record reports at that time.
